Werner Beckemeyer (born October 16, 1959 in Mettingen ) is a German chess player and trainer. He has held the title of International Master since 1992 .

With the youth team of North Rhine-Westphalia, he won the German U20 team championship in Hanover in 1978. Beckemeyer was active from 1982 to 2000 for various clubs in the single-track 1st  Bundesliga chess league, first for SG Bochum 31 , in the 1990/91 season for Bielefelder SK , in the 1991/92 season again for Bochum , from the 1992 / 93 for the Solingen SG 1868 and from the 1995/96 season for the Delmenhorster chess club . He played company sports for RASI 06 , the team from the law firm Dr. Sievert from Hamburg. Beckemeyer has a B-trainer license and is a trainer at the Chess Federation of North Rhine-Westphalia at the state performance base in Münster.

Beckemeyer is listed as inactive by FIDE because he has not played an elo-rated game since the Oberliga Süd-West 2011/12.
