Werner Beucke (born January 17, 1903 in Berlin ; died April 7, 1940 ) was a German designer and book cover artist.

Life

Werner Beucke studied at the United State Schools for Fine and Applied Arts with OHW Hadank . As a designer he worked for Ullstein Verlag and Deutsche Lufthansa, among others . Beucke had been a member of the board of the Association of German Commercial Graphics from 1932 until it was brought into line with the Association for German Culture in June 1933 .

In 1935 Beucke won the tender for the print design of the daily program and the tickets for the Olympic Winter and Summer Games in 1936 . He also designed the official catalog for the German exhibition pavilion during the Paris World Exhibition in 1937.

Beucke was an air force soldier in World War II and died in 1940. His grave in the Zehlendorf cemetery (field 1) has been preserved.
