Werner Fritschi (soccer player)

Werner Fritschi (born March 30, 1933 ) is a former German soccer player .

The midfielder moved from FC Rheinfelden to 1. FC Kaiserslautern , for whom he played in the Oberliga Südwest from 1951 . After excluding the Werner Fritschi German Championship final round in 1953 to be used with the FCK German master was, he moved to the 1953/54 season in the II. Division playing SSV Reutlingen 05 . In his first season with the SSV, Fritschi was promoted to the Oberliga Süd . The league season 1954/55 ended Werner Fritschi with the SSV as runner-up. As a result, Fritschi and his Reutlingen team were able to participate in the qualifying round for the 1955 German championship . In the 3-0 defeat against SV Sodingen in the first qualifying round, Werner Fritschi missed the SSV due to an injury. In the second qualifying round against Wormatia Worms he was in the starting line-up of SSV Reutlingen and was no longer fully operational in the second half due to another injury. At the end of the league season 1955/56 Fritschi occupied a relegation place with Reutlingen and thus played in the season 1956/57 with his team in the II. Division. In this season he succeeded in direct promotion to the Oberliga Süd. Werner Fritschi then held the class with SSV Reutlingen until the first-class league was dissolved in 1963. With 192 games for SSV in the top German division at the time, in which he scored 32 goals, Fritschi is SSV Reutlingen's record player in the Oberliga Süd. After his club was not taken into account in the selection of the founding members of the Bundesliga , Werner Fritschi played 7 games for SSV in the then second-rate Regionalliga Süd .
