Werner Grunert

Werner Grunert (born October 8, 1920 in Breslau ; † March 6, 2020 ) was an SPD politician in Baden-Württemberg and a songwriter .

Life

Werner Grunert was a trained technician. He was the personnel manager of IBM Germany and chairman of the local association of the SPD in Böblingen . From 1968 to 1976 he was a member of the Böblingen City Council. He then became district chairman of the SPD and from 1976 to 1988 a member of the state parliament of the SPD in Baden-Württemberg. Grunert is the founder of AG Song Böblingen and chairman of the Böblinger Theater "Altes Amtsgericht". He has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon (1980). In 2015 he was awarded the Willy Brandt Medal .

A well-known saying by Grunert is: “There are politicians who are incapable of anything. There are others who are capable of anything. "

Werner Grunert was married and had three children. One of his sons is the director Sven Grunert .
