Werner Huber (born August 3, 1947 in Hohenems ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Huber was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 2007 to 2019 and mayor of the market town of Götzis from 1990 to 2014 .

Werner Huber was born on August 3, 1947 as the son of the plumber Anton Huber and his wife Rosa in the Vorarlberg town of Hohenems . He attended elementary and secondary school in his home town of Götzis and also grew up in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley community . Huber then first attended the commercial school and then the commercial academy for professionals at the Federal Commercial Academy and Federal Commercial School in Bregenz , where he graduated in 1977 .

Werner Huber worked professionally as a municipal civil servant in his home municipality of Götzis, where he went through the municipal administration in almost all departments. Most recently he was employed as a senior councilor in the registry office before being elected mayor . In the municipal council elections in 1990, Werner Huber was elected mayor of the market town for ÖVP Götzis, and from 1995 he was also a member of the Götzner municipal council. Due to his retirement in September 2014, Huber was replaced as mayor by his successor and party colleague Christian Loacker.

In the Vorarlberg state parliament Werner Huber moved up for the first time on January 31, 2007 for Markus Wallner as a member of the state parliament. In the state elections in 2009 and 2014 he was then re-elected as a member of the state parliament. In the state parliament of the 30th legislative period , Werner Huber was area spokesman for the ÖVP state parliament club for spatial planning / building law and senior citizens. On March 11, 2016, Huber succeeded Gottfried Feurstein as chairman of the Vorarlberger Seniorenbund , a sub-organization of the ÖVP. Werner Huber has also been chairman of the Vorarlberg Seniors' Advisory Board since 2016.

After the state elections in 2019 , he left the state parliament. On January 26, 2020 Werner Huber was awarded the Ring of Honor by his home community Götzis.
