Werner Kümmel (doctor)

Werner Friedrich Franz Kümmel (born April 28, 1866 in Hildesheim , † November 19, 1930 in Heidelberg ) was a German ear, nose and throat doctor and university professor.

Life

He was a son of the civil engineer Werner Kümmel and a brother of the art historian Otto Kümmel and the father of the theologian Werner Georg Kümmel .

From 1883, Kümmel studied medicine in Leipzig , Marburg and Strasbourg . He received his doctorate in Strasbourg in 1888. In 1895 he received his habilitation in Breslau . In 1896 he took over the Breslau Polyclinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Patients, and in 1899 he received an extraordinary professorship . In 1902 he followed a call to an extraordinary position in Heidelberg , where he became a full professor in 1919 .
