Werner Krafft is a German silent film drama from 1916 by Carl Froelich .

action

Werner Krafft has worked his way up from a simple locksmith to a partner of the match manufacturer Kleinschmidt. At his will, Krafft becomes engaged to Erika, the daughter of foreman Waldhaus. But she maintains an intimate relationship with the junior boss, Heinz Kleinschmidt. When Erika's duplicity is found shortly before the planned wedding with Werner, the engagement is broken and she has to marry Heinz.

Werner Krafft finally found happiness in the foreman Anni. Anni is able to prevent the invention of Krafft, who is increasingly proving to be a clever mind, from being destroyed by the vengeful Erika. Erika's perfidious plan causes the entire factory to catch fire, and Erika is killed in the process. Her husband Heinz Kleinschmidt went broke overnight. For Krafft, this is like a wake-up call for a new beginning: He marries Anni and builds his own factory.
