Werner Müller (General Manager)

Werner Müller (born November 8, 1957 in Schweinfurt ) is a German theater director and director at the Stadttheater Fürth . He lives in Fürth ( Bavaria ).

Life

Müller studied theater studies, German language and literature and communication studies in Munich with a “Magister Artium” degree. From 1980 to 1985 he worked as assistant director and dramaturgy at the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz and for the Bavarian State Theater in Munich.

He worked with the directors at the time, Kurt Meisel and Frank Baumbauer, as well as directors and actors such as Martin Benrath , Gustl Bayrhammer , Michael Degen , August Everding , Hans Hollmann , Klaus Löwitsch and Walter Schmidinger , as well as working in the dramaturgy .

From 1985 to 1988 he was head of the KBB, dramaturge and director at the Franconian Theater Schloss Maßbach . In 1986 the first Sartre production took place with the play The Respectful Whore . In 1988 Müller moved to the Landgraf concert management team as a dramaturge and planner; he also worked as a guest director.

Artistic director at the Stadttheater Fürth

Werner Müller has been the artistic director of the Fürth City Theater since 1990 .

To promote the theater, he developed the three-stage model , consisting of in-house productions, cooperation with other theaters and guest performances by national and international ensembles. 1994 saw the first staging at the house with Max Frisch's play Biedermann und die Brandstifter .

In 1998 he received the theater prize of the Bavarian State Government for his Brecht evening Das ist der Mond über Soho with the singer Jutta Czurda . The Stadttheater Fürth has been a regular guest throughout Germany since 2000, with around 70 performances each in 2000 and 2001. Detours of the excellent Brecht evening took the theater to Berlin, Munich and - as part of the celebrations for the Brecht year - to Augsburg. Müller's Mozart productions played over several seasons on more than 50 stages in the German-speaking area.

In 2002 the Stadttheater Fürth celebrated its centenary under his direction with an anniversary weekend and a year-round festival, gala and sponsorship program. In 2004, together with the author and actress Angelika Aliti and the singer Jutta Czurda , Müller launched a new literary genre with the Magical Salon . In the same year, the Stadttheater Fürth received the Innovation Prize of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.

In June 2007 the Stadttheater Fürth hosted the 25th Bavarian Theater Days , and in June 2018 these are to take place again in Fürth.
