Werner Matthias Dornscheidt

Werner Matthias Dornscheidt , (born April 10, 1954 in Düsseldorf ) has been Chairman of the Management Board of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH since January 1, 2004 . From 1999 to 2003 he was Chairman of the Management Board of Leipziger Messe GmbH .

Life

Dornscheidt was born in Düsseldorf in 1954. After training as a hotel manager and graduate in business administration , he began his career in 1979 as a speaker in the central department for foreign trade fairs at the Düsseldorf exhibition company and was responsible for all of the company's foreign events from 1990 onwards. In 1999 he moved to Leipzig as head of the trade fair, before taking over the management of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH in 2004. Under his leadership, the company developed into the leading trade fair company in the development and organization of capital goods fairs.

Werner M. Dornscheidt is a board member of Messe Brünn BVV, board member of the Exhibition and Trade Fair Committee (AUMA) and member of the UFI Steering Committee (UFI - Union des Foires Internationales). He is also a member of the Rhineland Advisory Board of Dresdner Bank AG .

In addition, Dornscheidt was appointed Honorary Consul of the United Mexican States in 2006.

He is married and has two sons.

Social and community engagement

As a member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation , Dornscheidt has been supporting young athletes in an ideal and material way since 1999 . He is also chairman of the board of sponsors of the Department of Economics of the University of Dusseldorf , board member of the Pro Dusseldorf eV, member of the Homeland Association Düsseldorf Jonges eV, a board member of the NRW Sports Foundation , member of the Supervisory Board of sportAgentur Dusseldorf and advisory board member of Klüh Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation in science and research.
