Werner Osypka

Werner Osypka (born October 5, 1931 in Miechowitz near Beuthen , Upper Silesia ; † July 8, 2012 in Heusenstamm ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Werner Osypka studied philosophy and theology in Paderborn, Munich and Erfurt after attending high school in Beuthen, Wolgast, Tarnowitz, Dessau and Leipzig and graduating from high school in 1950 at the cathedral and council school in Halberstadt. He completed his studies with the Philosophicum and the final theological examination. He then studied economics and sociology in Münster . During his studies he worked a. a. in a fabric printing shop, in English agriculture, as a miner underground and in the Volkswagen factory as a student trainee. From 1959 to 1963 he was youth education officer for political education with unorganized youth at the Frankfurt Social School / Diocese of Speyer, then a research assistant at the Rabanus-Maurus Academy , the Catholic Academy in Hesse. From January 1968 he worked as Caritas Director in Frankfurt am Main.

Werner Osypka leaves behind a wife, four children and seven grandchildren.

politics

Werner Osypka was already politically active as a student. In 1956 he was ASTA chairman, then chairman of the council of elders and student senate member for a year.

Since 1961 he was a member of the CDU. For his party he had been a city councilor in Heusenstamm since 1972 and from October 13, 1983 to April 4, 1995, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament for three electoral periods. He was always elected in the Offenbach Land II constituency.

Other offices

Werner Osypka has worked as a member of the State Welfare Committee since 1968 and there as chairman of the kindergarten commission. He was a member of the labor law commission of the German Caritas Association, of the finance committee and administrative board of the church supplementary pension fund in Cologne, of the board of the association of Catholic homes and facilities for the elderly in Germany and of the specialist committee for social planning of the German association for public and private welfare. He was also active in the German Forest Protection Association.
