Werner Riemerschmid
Werner Riemerschmid (born November 16, 1895 in Maria Enzersdorf , Lower Austria , † April 16, 1967 in Mödling , Austria ) was an Austrian writer , radio play author and critic.
Life
Werner Riemerschmid served in the First World War from 1915 to 1917 . He then studied law at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1921. He studied acting at the State Academy for Music and Performing Arts.
Anton Wildgans , who was also a lawyer, brought him to the Burgtheater as a lecturer and dramaturge.
In 1928 he moved to Radio Verkehrs AG (RAVAG) as dramaturge and game director . As a writer he had his greatest success in 1931 with the book of dear Augustine . At RAVAG he was soon a popular reporter because he was one of the first to regularly leave the studio and do research on site, and thus - as it was said - go out to the people .
After Austria's annexation to the German Reich in 1938 , Riemerschmid worked for the Reichsender Wien and contributed to the confessional book of Austrian poets (published by the Association of German Writers in Austria ), which enthusiastically welcomed the annexation.
From 1945 he was a director at ORF .
Riemerschmid died in Mödling, where he was buried.
