Vasile Florea
Vasile-Gheorghe Florea (born October 25, 1967 in Craiova , Dolj district ) is a Romanian table tennis player and trainer. He took part in eight world championships.
Career
Florea is left-handed. He started playing table tennis at the age of nine. At the European Schools Championships in 1982 he was first with the Romanian team. In 1985 he took third place in the European Youth Championship.
In the 1980s he won several titles at the Romanian National Championships:
- 1983–1985: Junior singles
- 1984–1986: men's singles
- 1984–1987 and 1989: men's doubles
- 1985–1987: Mixed (with Otilia Bădescu )
When he was at the 1992 European Championships in Stuttgart a. a. won against Zoran Primorac , he attracted attention abroad. In the same year, the TTC Esslingen club signed him for the German Bundesliga .
In the following years he played for several German clubs.

- 2003 - 2005: TSV Hagenburg (2nd BL)
- 2005 - 2006: FC Tegernheim (2nd BL)
- 2006 - 2007: SG Blau-Weiß Reichenbach (Regional League)
- 2007 - 2008: 1. FC Saarbrücken (2. BL)
- 2008 - 2011: TTC Kist / Würzburg (Regionalliga)
- 2012 - 2014: TSV Bad Königshofen
- since 2014: TB Untertürkheim (Oberliga)
Internationally, he has represented Romania at eight world championships , four European championships and the 1996 Olympic Games since 1991 . In 1996 he won the ITTF ProTour tournament.
In 2003 he was appointed coach of the Romanian men's national team, which he coached until February 2007, when he was replaced in the office by Viorel Sterea .
