Werner Vollborn

Werner Vollborn (born August 30, 1909 in Kiel , † December 29, 1972 ibid) was a German Protestant theologian and university professor.

Life

Vollborn studied Protestant theology at the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University , where he became a member of the Corps Frisia in the Weinheim Senior Citizens' Convention . After graduating as Dr. theol. at the Prussian University of Greifswald in 1938 he was first assistant preacher at the Bordesholm monastery and at the Nikolaikirche (Kiel) , then military priest in the Navy . 1949 Old Testament theology habilitation , he taught from 1949 as a lecturer at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel . After two years as a study inspector at the preacher's seminary in Preetz , he went to the Michaeliskirche in Kiel-Hassee as a pastor in 1951 . In 1954 he was unanimously elected to the second parish of the Heiligengeistgemeinde at the Pauluskirche (Kiel) . As such , he also preached in the Düsternbrook Protestant student residence. One valued “his clearly structured, haunting and generally understandable sermons”. As a professor at the theological faculty of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, he taught the Old Testament . The Corps Holsatia awarded him the ribbon in 1955 .
