The West Water Reservoir is a reservoir in Scotland .
geography
The lake, about one kilometer long and a maximum of 440 m wide, is located on the northwestern border of the Council Area Scottish Borders on the eastern flank of the Pentland Hills . About three kilometers east is the village of West Linton . With the King Seat in the north, Catstone Hill in the west and Mendick Hill in the southeast, three hills frame the reservoir.
The main tributary is the short mountain stream West Water , which rises between King Seat and Catstone Hill. The lake, which covers 36.8 hectares, is fed by other streams. The final earth dam is on the southeast side. The outflowing West Water flows into the Lyne Water at West Linton .

Construction of the West Water dam was completed in 1969. The lake is used as a water supply in the Scottish Borders. The operator is the water utility Scottish Water .
