The scattered village Westach is a southwestern municipality of part of the market Isen in Upper Bavarian district of Erding .

geography

Westach with its homesteads, some of which are further apart, has around 120 inhabitants. In the municipality, the stop for Inner - / Auserbittlbach was on the Thann-Matzbach-Haag railway line .

history

The Westacher family, who were richly wealthy in Isengau in the late Middle Ages and early modern times, came from Westach . The municipality of Westach was founded in 1818 with the Bavarian municipal edict. The municipality of Westach, which surrounded the town of Isen and had 847 inhabitants in 1964, comprised 45 districts (mostly desert areas ), the largest being the villages of Mais, Loipfing and Rosenberg and the stately hamlets of Höselsthal , Altweg, Aschberg, Bachleiten and Hofreit. In the run-up to the Bavarian regional reform of 1972, the then municipality Westach joined the Isen market together with Schnaupping on April 1, 1971.

Attractions

The "Müllerbrünnl" is located in a forest clearing a few hundred meters to the west. The small wooden chapel next to it is dedicated to St. Leonhard. According to legend, the spring water is said to have healing effects against eye ailments and diseases of the digestive organs.
