Westorf is a district of the municipality of Kalletal in the Lippe district .

history

The first documentary mention of the village is in an inventory of the Herford Abbey from the 12th century. Since the soil is largely unsuitable for agriculture, the brick makers and later the cigar makers worked in Westorf for over a hundred years. After areas were set aside, nature conservationists and bird conservationists were able to set up biotopes.

Westorf was incorporated into the municipality of Kalletal on January 1, 1969 by the Lemgo Act .
