The Wether Law is a hill in the Pentland Hills . The 519 m high elevation lies in the center of the approximately 25 km long range of hills on the northern border of the Scottish Council Area Scottish Borders . The closest settlement is the hamlet of Carlops around three kilometers southeast. West Linton is three miles south and Penicuik is ten miles northeast. The surrounding hills include the Grain Heads in the southeast, West Cairn Hill in the west, East Cairn Hill in the northwest and the Cock Rig in the northeast.

Surroundings

The hill is located between two reservoirs , North Esk Reservoir to the east and Baddinsgill Reservoir to the south. A creek that rises on the slopes between Grain Heads and Wether Law flows into the North Esk Reservoir, while a creek on the southwest flank feeds the Baddinsgill Reservoir. The Henshaw Burn , which rises on the north flank, flows into the North Esk above the reservoir .
