action

Cape Town , South Africa : In hardly any other city in the world are poverty and wealth so close together as in the Cape of Good Hope . The film tells the stories of Ashraf, Mne, Zoliswa and Arnold, who struggle for survival in different ways in the slums around Cape Town.

Ashraf and Mne from the Anti Eviction Campaign campaigned against evictions and water closures in the townships every day . Zoliswa, a single mother, is looking for a new job as a domestic worker and Arnold is training to become an armed security guard in the booming security industry. When the city administration wants to clear an entire poor settlement, Ashraf and his friend Mne are confronted with their own unprocessed experiences from the apartheid period .

Reviews

“When the Mountain meets its Shadow by Alexander Kleid and Daniela Michels portrays the venue of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Close to the road that leads from the airport to the stadium, it is about people who are struggling to survive, whose townships have been replaced by luxury settlements should be. And of people who do not give up, whose eyes shine with hope. Rousing and full of power. "
