Eckart Volker "Eckes" Malz (* 1962 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a German film music composer, arranger and pianist .

Life

From the age of five, Malz had music lessons on the flute, piano, violin and drums. After school he completed an apprenticeship as a piano maker , followed by further training in composition and arrangement and has been a composer for theater, film, television and advertising productions since 1982 .

As a studio and live musician (piano, keyboards and percussion) he has been on numerous tours and has been involved in publications, including with Donald Tillman (USA), Volker Strifler (USA), Six Was Nine , Freddy Wonder , De-Phazz and Lydie Auvray . His style includes mostly the areas of rock , pop , jazz and world.

Malz has already worked as an orchestral arranger for the Sons of Mannheim , Xavier Naidoo and the Philharmonic Wonders . In 1993 he founded the first take studios with Biber Gullatz, based in Weinheim an der Bergstrasse, and has been running a studio in Cologne since 2000 .

Since 1985 he has also worked for theater and ballet (including Burgtheater Vienna, Staatstheater Stuttgart , Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , Schauspielhaus Zürich , etc.), and since 2006 he has been part of his own project Eccomoreno (style: Lounge - Jazz - House ) from which the CD Xiquembo emerged in 2010 .

Malz lives with his daughter in Cologne.
