Whitchurch is a town in the district Shropshire in the county of Shropshire , England, on the border with Wales . Whitchurch is 18 miles from Shrewsbury , which is joined by the A49 road , which is intersected by the A41 road and the A525 road . In 2001 it had 8,673 inhabitants. Whitchurch was mentioned as Westune / Westone in the Domesday Book in 1086 .
