The ESWE traffic driving GmbH (formerly Wiesbaden Bus Company Ltd. ( WiBus )) is a transport company , which on behalf of the transport company ESWE provides transport services in the bus network. The ESWE traffic driving GmbH itself has no lines concessions .

history

In order to gain an advantage over other bus companies through a company not bound by the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD), Wiesbadener Versorgungs- und Verkehrs Holding GmbH and Hamburger Hochbahn  AG founded a joint subsidiary , Wiesbadener , in July 2004 WiBus bus company. The Hochbahn held a 49% stake in WiBus through its holding company BeNEX , and the Wiesbaden supply and transport holding company held a 51% stake. In October 2007, the partners announced that Wiesbadener Versorgungs- und Verkehrsholding GmbH (later renamed WVV Wiesbaden Holding GmbH ) would take over the BeNEX share and thus become the sole owner. The basis for the strategic partnership was the fact that ESWE Verkehr no longer wanted to extend the chance of expiring contracts with the companies Autobus Sippel and Bernhard Mester GmbH , which had previously provided part of the transport services for ESWE Verkehr.

At first there were problems with the buses provided by the Hamburger Hochbahn from Hamburg , as they were too weakly motorized. These vehicles were taken out of service or returned to the elevated railway, only four buses remained in Wiesbaden. New vehicles were then purchased for Wiesbaden. There was also great criticism of the local knowledge of the WiBus drivers, where at the beginning there were sometimes massive deficiencies in the line customer service and deficits in German language skills were noted by the customers. The massive criticism led to the replacement of the managing director within WiBus.

Since 2005, instead of ESWE Verkehr WiBus, it has been employing drivers themselves and training them in the ESWE Verkehr driving school. ESWE drivers now also drive WiBus buses and vice versa. At first, WiBus stickers were attached to the doors of WiBus vehicles so that passengers could recognize them as WiBus, but since 2006 all WiBus vehicles have had ESWE Verkehr stickers on the front. The Wiesbaden bus company was only identified on the left-hand side of the bus under the driver's window .

WiBus applies the collective agreement of the State Association of Hessian Bus Entrepreneurs (LHO), of which it is a member. A change to the Local Employers' Association of Hessen (KAV) with the introduction of TV-N Hessen for the employees of ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb GmbH (ex WiBus GmbH ) was planned for January 1, 2015.

On June 25, 2014, the company was renamed ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb GmbH and all shares were transferred from WVV to ESWE Verkehr. The notarial implementation and entry in the commercial register took place on August 12, 2014. Since that day the name WiBus - Wiesbadener Busgesellschaft mbH has been history.

A complete merger of the two companies ESWE Verkehr and ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb is being considered. On April 28, 2015, the city council of Wiesbaden decided to completely merge ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH with its previous subsidiaries ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb GmbH (EVFB, formerly WiBus) and ESWE Verkehr Service GmbH (EVS).

Line bus traffic

The route network of ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb GmbH amounts to all Wiesbaden city bus routes and night bus routes, including the joint routes between ESWE Verkehr and MVG . This means that vehicles and personnel from ESWE Verkehr Fahrbetrieb GmbH are deployed to Mainz , Hochheim am Main , Hofheim-Wildsachsen am Taunus, Eppstein- Bremthal and Niedernhausen in addition to the entire Wiesbaden urban area .
