Wichmond is a village in the municipality of Bronckhorst in the Dutch province of Gelderland .
history
While the missionary Liudger was in West Saxony , Count Wrachar te Brummen gave him a piece of land on the IJssel between Baak and Wichmond in 794 . At this donation Wichmond is mentioned for the first time as Withmundi . The population began to build a church around 800, which was blessed in 801 by Liudger, St. Salvator of Horta . The missionary soon left the place to devote himself to his newly founded Werden Abbey .
On January 1, 2005, Wichmond became part of the Bronckhorst parish.
