Wiebke Silge (born July 16, 1996 in Münster ) is a German volleyball player .
Career
Wiebke Silge played volleyball in her Westphalian home with BSV Ostbevern as a youth . In 2011 she came to the volleyball boarding school at USC Münster , where she first played in the junior team in the second Bundesliga north . From 2013 to 2015, the middle blocker was in the USC's Bundesliga squad. Then Silge played for two years at league competitor SC Potsdam .
In 2013 Wiebke Silge finished seventh with the German youth national team at the U18 European Championships and eighth with the junior women’s national team at the U23 World Championships. In 2014 she was appointed to the German national team for the first time and made her first appearance in the 1: 3 against the USA in Montreux . She then finished second with the national team in the Europa League and ninth at the World Cup in Italy . In 2015, she reached fifth place with the national team at the European Championships in Belgium and the Netherlands .
In May 2017, Silge ended her Bundesliga career. She then played again for her home club BSV Ostbevern in the 3rd League West and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2019. In 2020, Silge moved to Switzerland for VC Kanti Schaffhausen .
