The Wiesauplast Germany GmbH & Co. KG is a plastics manufacturer based in Wiesau in Bavaria . The company, which was founded in 1958, is a supplier of plastic components for various industrial sectors and the world market leader in the field of PET safety parts for automotive braking systems.
history
The company for mold construction and plastics processing was founded in 1958 by Herbert Kupke.
In the early 1960s made Wiesauplast the first turn signal lamps for the VW Beetle of Volkswagen AG . In the 1980s, the company expanded its range and began manufacturing control housings for the automotive industry in 1983, and in the following year Wiesauplast was involved in the development of the first complete small kitchen appliances . In 1985 the first brake fluid reservoirs for the automotive industry were produced.
In 1997 the Indus Holding from Bergisch Gladbach joins the company as a partner. Today Indus Holding holds 100 percent of the shares in Wiesauplast.
In 2000 Wiesauplast entered into a joint venture with the American Plastic Moldings Company, with whose help sales offices were opened in Detroit and Cincinnati . Five years later, the company opened a new plant in Wiesau in the Upper Palatinate, in which the company invested around 20 million euros.
In 2007, Wiesauplast opened a new plant in San José Iturbide in Mexico with around 70 employees, in which brake fluid containers for the BMW production facility in Spartanburg in the United States are manufactured.
In 2010 the Wiesau plastics manufacturer founded the subsidiary mid-tronic Wiesauplast GmbH.
Products
The company mainly produces various plastic parts for the automotive industry. The range includes control housings for brake boosters , brake fluid reservoirs for hydraulic brake systems and components for ABS and ESP . Housing components for medical technology and plastic components for industry are also produced.
