Viktor Andreevich Baschenow ( Russian Виктор Андреевич Баженов , scientific transliteration Viktor Andreevič Baženov ; born August 6, 1946 in Omsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet saber fencer .
successes
Viktor Baschenow won the world championship with the Soviet team in Buenos Aires in 1977 . A year later , he missed defending the title with her in Hamburg and took silver. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , he moved into the final with the Soviet team after victories in the quarter-finals against Germany and in the semi-finals against Hungary . In the battle for gold, Italy prevailed 9: 5, so that Bashenov received the silver medal together with Vladimir Naslymow , Mark Rakita , Viktor Sidjak and Eduard Vinokurow .
