Viktor Dmitrijewitsch Fjodorow ( Russian Виктор Дмитриевич Фёдоров ; born November 23, 1947 in the Djaromte station, between Hailar and Hulun Buir , Manchuria ) is a Russian admiral . From 2001 to 2007 he was the commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet .

Life

Fyodorov graduated from the Far Eastern Seafaring School for Fisheries of the USSR in Nakhodka in 1968 and in 1976 the Faculty of Navigation of the Pacific Naval War College SO Makarow in Vladivostok . He was used in the Pacific Fleet from 1968 to 1971 as a combat section commander for navigation on the anti-mine vehicles MT-65 and MT-68 . From 1971 to 1973 he was an officer on watch on the anti-mine vehicle MT-66 and from 1973 to 1977 commander of the anti-mine vehicle MT-421 . In the following two years he attended the Naval War Academy A. A. Gretschko and was employed until 1980 as commander of the 146th submarine fighter division , the 47th coastal defense ship brigade and from 1980 to 1981 as commander of the Sakhalin flotilla. From 1981 to 1983 he served as chief of staff and from 1983 to 1985 as commander of the 47th coastal defense ship brigade. In the Primorsk Flotilla, Fyodorov worked from 1985 to 1987 as chief of the operational department of the staff and as its chief of staff from 1987 to 1990. From 1990 to 1991 he was military advisor to the Commander in Chief of the Ethiopian naval forces. He was then employed as deputy chief of staff of the Pacific Fleet until 1993 and as commander of the Primorsk Flotilla from August 1993 to September 1997. In this position he was promoted to Vice Admiral on May 5, 1995 . This was followed by a position as Chief of Staff of the Pacific Fleet from September 11, 1997 to December 5, 2001. In 2001 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces . From December 5, 2001 to December 6, 2007, Fyodorov commanded the Pacific Fleet. On February 21, 2002 he was appointed admiral.
