Viktor Ivchenko

Viktor Ivchenko Ilarionowytsch ( Ukrainian Віктор Іларіонович Івченко , born October 22, jul. / 4. November  1912 greg. In Bohodukhiv , Kharkov Governorate , Russian Empire ; † 6. September 1972 in Rostov-on-Don , Rostov Oblast , Russian SFSR ) was a Ukrainian - Soviet film director .

Life

Viktor Ivchenko graduated from the National University of Theater, Film and Television in Kiev in 1937 . In 1941 he joined the CPSU . From 1937 to 1952 he was the director of the Marija Sankowezka theater in Lviv . From 1953 he was director of the Dowschenko film studios in Kiev. From 1960 he was a lecturer at the University of Theater, Film and Television in Kiev. Ivchenko died on September 6, 1972 after falling ill in Rostov while looking for new film locations .

Iwchenko's most successful films include Marina's Destiny , which was nominated at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1954 , Iwanna , who had 30 million cinema viewers and won an award at the All Union Film Festival in Minsk in 1960, and Chrezvychainoe proisshestvie , which had 47.4 million cinema viewers in 1958 made it the most successful year for the Dovchenko film studios.
