Wil Lutz (* 7. July 1994 in Newnan , Georgia ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the Kickers . He currently plays for the New Orleans Saints in the NFL .

college

Lutz attended Georgia State University and played for their team, the Panthers , College Football . While his performance in field goal attempts was rather average (27 out of 39), he was able to establish himself as an extremely reliable scorer with extra points (102 out of 104). He was repeatedly called up as a punter .

NFL

Baltimore Ravens

Lutz was not considered in the 2016 NFL Draft , but was subsequently signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent , took part in all the preparation, but was unable to prevail against the veteran Justin Tucker , who in turn received a lavish contract, and was still retired before the beginning of the regular season .

New Orleans Saints

A few days before the start of the 2016 season, Lutz was invited to a trial training session by the New Orleans Saints . He showed such convincing performances that he was hired and pushed the regular kicker Kai Forbath from the squad. In 2018 he scored 28 of 30 field goals and 52 of 53 extra points. On March 13, 2019, the Saints signed Lutz for another five years.
In 2019 he was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time .
