Wilbur Schwandt

Wilbur Clyde Schwandt (born June 28, 1904 in Manitowoc , Wisconsin , † July 23, 1998 in Miami , Florida ) was an American composer.

He studied music in Chicago and later worked as an orchestrator for Bob Hope when he went on tour. From the 1940s he worked in the field of Latin American music for around a quarter of a century . His best-known work today is the song " Dream a Little Dream of Me ", which he and Fabian Andre are considered to have created. The original song is from 1931, the version by Mama Cass became particularly popular .

Schwandt retired in the mid-1960s and died in 1998 at the age of 94.
