Wilhelm Bertrams

Wilhelm Bertrams SJ (born January 6, 1907 in Essen , † December 31, 1995 in Münster ) was a German Jesuit and canon lawyer .

Life

The son of police officer Wilhelm Bertrams and his wife Wilhelmine, b. Bungers, he entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus on April 23, 1926 in Exaeten . After moving to Mittelsteine , he completed the first phase of training on April 25, 1928 with the first vows . After a two-year interstice as prefect at the Aloisius College, the four-year theological studies in Valkenburg aan de Geul followed. He was ordained a priest on August 27, 1936. From 1938 he completed a special course in canon law, which he received in autumn 1941 with the Dr. iur. can. completed. From then on he taught at the Pontificia Universitas Gregoriana , first in the subject of philosophy of law and later also theology of law and continued as a professor from October 1943 until it ended in the summer of 1981. On June 2, 1981, he moved to the nursing home in Münster.
