Wilhelm Beyer (born March 22, 1885 in Hohenmölsen , † April 11, 1945 in Schermcke ) was a German politician and a functionary of the NSDAP .

Life

Beyer grew up in Hohenmölsen and attended elementary school there, after which he worked as an apprentice in various industrial companies. In 1902 he joined the 7th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 96 in Naumburg . As a military candidate he went to the Royal Police in Kiel. In 1919 he switched to the postal service as a postal assistant. First he was post secretary and after passing an administrative examination he was promoted to chief post secretary. On October 1, 1931, he resigned from the postal service due to illness.

Beyer joined the NSDAP in 1925. From 1926 he was treasurer of the NSDAP district leadership in Essen . From August 1, 1928, he held the same position in the Essen district administration. On November 29, 1930 he received a mandate as a city councilor in Essen.

After the National Socialist " seizure of power " he received a seat in the Reichstag in November 1933 in constituency 23 (Düsseldorf West) , to which he was a member until 1945. In the SA , Beyer was promoted to Standartenführer on January 30, 1937 and to Oberführer in the SA Group Niederrhein on November 9, 1942 . Most recently he was head of the Gau main office and head of the NSDAP. Beyer died on a business trip to Hamburg during combat operations in the final phase of the Second World War .
