Wilhelm Buddenberg (born October 28, 1928 , † 1990 ) was a German football player .

Career

Buddenberg belonged from 1948 to 1950 Borussia Dortmund in the Oberliga West , in one of the five highest German divisions at the time, and was used in only five point games. His debut on March 27, 1949 (23rd matchday) in the 3-5 defeat in the away game against Rot-Weiss Essen was his only game of the season. During his club membership he won the West German championship twice with the team. Due to his success, Borussia Dortmund took part in the finals for the German championship . In 1948/49 he played four finals, including the final on July 10, 1949 in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart . Against VfR Mannheim the game was lost in front of 92,000 spectators with 2: 3 after extra time .

The 1950/51 season he played for the league competitor STV Horst-Emscher , for whom he played ten point games. A severe meniscus injury suffered in November 1950 forced him to retire from his career.
