Wilhelm Droste (politician, 1960)
Wilhelm Droste (born December 3, 1960 in Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1995 to 2016 .
Life and work
Droste is the eldest son of the CDU politician of the same name and a former member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament for Ratingen and Heiligenhaus (1970–1985). He spent his childhood and youth in Ratingen-Hösel , his secondary school leaving certificate (1977) and his Abitur (1980) in Ratingen-Lintorf . He completed his law studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn in 1990 with the second state examination. From 1990 to 1992 he completed a trainee program at Dresdner Bank AG in Halle an der Saale and Düsseldorf . From 1992 to 1993 he was a lawyer in Düsseldorf. In November 1993 he was appointed notary assessor and in May 1998 he was appointed notary. In 1999 he received his doctorate as Dr. iur. He works as a notary in Düsseldorf.
Political party
Droste joined the CDU in 1978, was chairman of the Junge Union in Ratingen-Hösel from 1978 to 1992 and chairman of the CDU Hösel from 1989 to 1994. In 1989 he became a member of the district council of the Mettmann district and was an assessor on the board of the CDU city association of Ratingen from 1992 to 1995 . From January 1996 to November 4, 2010 he was chairman of the CDU district association Mettmann and from 2003 to 2011 deputy chairman of the district association Bergisches Land of the CDU.
MP
Since June 1, 1995 he has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, elected in 1995, 2000 and 2012 via the CDU state list. In 2000 he received 37.5 percent, in 2005 48.0 percent, 2010 44.6 percent and 2012 37.3 percent of the first votes in the constituency of Mettmann III for the cities of Heiligenhaus and Ratingen. From May 2005 to June 2006 he was the spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament's committee for economics, medium-sized enterprises and energy, was elected legal advisor of the CDU parliamentary group on June 26, 2006 and was thus a member of the executive committee.
In the working groups of the CDU parliamentary group, Droste is a full member of the working group on economics, medium-sized businesses and energy, as well as a deputy member in the working groups on law, home affairs and household and finance.
At the end of 2016, he gave up his state parliament mandate.
