Wilhelm Franz Adolf von Fürstenberg (* July 20, 1684 ; † April 3, 1707 ) was canon in the prince-bishops of Münster and Paderborn .

Life

Origin and family

Wilhelm Franz Adolf von Furstenberg, as the son of Ferdinand von Furstenberg and his wife Maria Theresia von Westphalen to Laer the noble family von Furstenberg , one of the oldest and most important of Westphalia . Numerous well-known personalities from church and state have emerged from the family line. One of the most important representatives of the family was the Prince-Bishop Ferdinand von Fürstenberg . Wilhelm Franz had eight brothers and seven sisters, many of whom, however, found infant deaths at an early age. His brother Christian Franz (1689–1755) was a member of the Reichshofrat and Erbdroste . Hugo Franz (1692–1755), Friedrich Christian (1700–1742), Franz Egon (1702–1761), Friedrich (1685–1706) and Ferdinand Anton (1683–1711) were canons in Münster and Paderborn.

Act

In 1692 Wilhelm Franz received his uncle Wilhelm's cathedral preacher in Paderborn with papal approval . From 1700 to 1704 he studied at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . After the resignation of Canon Theodor Jobst von der Recke, he received a prebend in Münster . From 1704 to 1706 Wilhelm studied in Siena . From here he went to Rome to visit his terminally ill brother Friedrich. He became provost at the Holy Cross Church in Hildesheim . Shortly before his death he renounced the Paderborn prebende in favor of his brother Christian Franz.
