Wilhelm von Woyna (General, 1863)

Wilhelm Friedrich Ludwig von Woyna (born July 3, 1863 , † May 1950 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

On April 15, 1882, he joined the Prussian Army as a second lieutenant . On May 22, 1912 he took over the leadership of the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Field Artillery Regiment No. 60 in Schwerin , and on February 3, 1914, the 15th Field Artillery Brigade in Cologne, with which he also went to war. August 28, 1914 he became Chief of Staff of the 1st Army Corps under Hermann von François . On August 18, 1915, he took over the leadership of the 3rd Landwehr Division . On June 19, 1916, he took over the leadership of the 5th Reserve Division . December 28, 1916 he took over the leadership of the 225th Division until July 5, 1917. On January 27, 1918 he was promoted to lieutenant general to take over the command of the VII Army Corps on July 6, 1918 . On February 9, 1919, however, he was again division commander of the 20th division until it was dissolved.
