Wilhelm Fritzel (born October 16, 1870 in Hamburg , † 1943 in Ohrensen ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School of Painting .

Wilhelm Fritzel studied from 1892 to 1895 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Olof Jernberg , Hugo Crola , Adolf Schill , Peter Janssen and Arthur Kampf, and from 1894 to 1895 as a master student in the landscape class of Eugen Dücker . In the following years he worked as a figure, animal and landscape painter, mostly with motifs from the Lower Rhine. In the 1890s he became friends with Karl Wilhelm Dahl . Following the tradition of the Düsseldorf School of Painting, he was drawn to the Eifel again and again. In the 1920s he then settled in Kaiserswerth on the Rhine. Wilhelm Fritzel was a member of the Association of Düsseldorf Artists and was on the board of directors and board member of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf . Most recently Fritzel lived in the property at Gartenstrasse 34 in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort .
