Wilhelm Gleim

Georg Wilhelm Gleim (born July 28, 1820 in Melsungen ; † July 9, 1881 there ) was a German lawyer and manor owner . From 1874 to 1878 he was a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Gleim was the son of the cloth manufacturer Johann G. Gleim and attended high school in Hersfeld . He began to study law and camera science at the Philipps University of Marburg in 1839 and was active in the Corps Teutonia Marburg in the winter semester of 1841/42 . In 1843 he also joined the Marburg Corps Marcomannia and Hassia. He finished his studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . After extensive journeys he settled as a lawyer in Sontra and Rotenburg an der Fulda (1850). He received a notary's office and was honored as a judicial councilor .

He sat in the municipal parliament from Kassel (1868), the City Council of Rotenburg and in the council of Rotenburg (Fulda) . As a member of the National Liberal Party , he was elected to the Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel 6 (Hersfeld, Rotenburg, Hünfeld ) in the Reichstag election in 1874 and in the Reichstag election in 1877 .

Gleim died shortly before his 61st birthday.
