Wilhelm Hüffmeier
Wilhelm Hüffmeier (born July 12, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German Protestant theologian . Among other things, he was president of the Gustav-Adolf-Werk and head of the church chancellery of the Union of Evangelical Churches (UEK).
Career
Wilhelm Hüffmeier studied Protestant theology in Berlin , Marburg and Zurich from 1960 to 1965 . He completed his vicariate in the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg .
From 1966 to 1972 he was a research assistant to Eberhard Jüngel in Zurich and Tübingen and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . From 1973 to 1975 and 1980 to 1981 he lectured on the New Testament at the Theological College of the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in São Leopoldo (Brazil).
From 1976 to 1983 he was pastor at the Lankwitz village church in Berlin-Lankwitz and in 1983 he became a theological consultant in the church chancellery of the Evangelical Church of the Union (EKU) and at the Arnoldshain conference . From 1995 to 2003 he was head of the EKU church chancellery and after the merger of the EKU and Arnoldshainer Conference to form the Union of Evangelical Churches in 2003 he held the same office in their church chancellery.
When Hüffmeier retired in 2006, the activity of the church chancellery of the UEK in Berlin came to an end. The ICE's business is now handled by the ICE office in the Church Office of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) in Hanover.

- 1984–2011: Chairman of the Gustav-Adolf-Werk of the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg (from 2005 of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia)
- 1987–2006: Head of the Leuenberg Church Fellowship Secretariat in Berlin
- 2004–2015: President of the Gustav-Adolf-Werk (Diasporawerk der EKD) (GAW), Leipzig
