William I (Nevers)

Wilhelm I ( Guillaume I , † June 20, 1098 ) was a count of Nevers , Auxerre and Tonnerre ( iure uxoris ) from the House of Monceaux . He was a son of Count Rainald I and Adele, a daughter of King Robert II of France .

He was married to Ermengarde, a daughter of Count Rainald von Tonnerre , who inherited County Tonnerre in 1065 after her cousin, Count Hugo-Rainald, had been elected Bishop of Langres . Your children were:

William was buried in the Saint-Étienne church in Nevers . Because his eldest son Rainald II had died before him, his grandson Wilhelm II immediately followed him in Nevers and Auxerre . Tonnerre County was inherited by the second son Wilhelm.
