Wilhelm Iwanski

Wilhelm Iwanski (born August 25, 1911 in Eickel or in Wanne , † February 1, 1985 in Iserlohn - Letmathe ) was a German writer .

Life

Iwanski was born the tenth child of a miner. After attending primary school in Wanne-Eickel, he completed an apprenticeship as a construction and art fitter from 1926 to 1928 . From 1929 he worked in the technical operations of the Catholic Wanne-Eickeler Volkszeitung until it was banned in 1934. Having become unemployed, he moved to Letmathe, where he worked as a welder, car mechanic, belt operator and porter.

Wilhelm Iwanski was a freelancer for Iserlohner Kreisanzeiger and for Letmather Nachrichten . He was a co-founder of the Hagen Authors' Circle Ruhr-Mark .
