Wilhelm Klatte

Wilhelm Klatte (born February 13, 1870 in Bremen , † July 25, 1930 in Berlin ) was a German music theorist , teacher , journalist and conductor .
Life
After studying music in Leipzig , Wilhelm Klatte began his professional career as a musician at the Weimar Court Theater with Richard Strauss . During this time he also worked as a conductor on various occasions. In 1897 he became the first music advisor at the Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger . From 1904 Klatte also taught music theory at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin, where he was appointed professor in 1919 . Since 1925 he also had a teaching position for theory at the State Academy for Church and School Music .
Wilhelm Klatte also held a number of honorary positions. He held functions as a board member in the General German Music Association (from 1909) and as a representative of the musical art in the Provisional Reich Economic Council (from 1925).
