Wilhelm Löwith
Wilhelm Löwith (born May 21, 1861 in Drosau , Bohemia , † October 26, 1932 in Munich ) was an Austrian painter.
Wilhelm Löwith came from a Jewish family of Protestant denomination. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Wilhelm von Lindenschmit the Younger .
Löwith was appointed royal professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1902 by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria .
Löwith's works are in the collections of museums in Amsterdam, Bautzen, Cincinnati, Frankfurt, Munich, Nuremberg and Prague.
He was the father of the philosopher Karl Löwith (1897–1973).
