Wilhelm Ludwig von Aweyde (* 1699 , † 1762 ) was a Prussian colonel and chief of the Feldjägerkorps and heir to Polwitten.

Life

origin

He was a member of the old Prussian noble family Aweyden and the only son of Caspar von Aweyde (* 1645) and his second wife Katharina Elisabeth von Leps. His mother was the sister of General Otto Friedrich von Leps .

Military career

Aweyde initially served in the "Buddenbrock" cuirassier regiment . On January 3, 1724 he was cornet , on August 6, 1729 lieutenant and on July 14, 1739 Rittmeister . On December 4, 1741 he received Colonel von Rappe's company . He then became major on October 8, 1742, and colonel and commander of the Feldjägerkorps (Garrison Mittenwalde ) on September 3, 1751 , where he was dismissed in February 1761. On July 21, 1751 he bought the Polwitten estate from Colonel Friedrich Wilhelm Stach von Goltzheim. Aweyde was never married and in his will of July 20, 1759 declared the son of his sister Otto Ludwig von Okolowitz to be his heir. After his death in 1762, the will was published on May 23, 1762.
