Wilhelm Müller-Erzbach , also Wilhelm Erzbach (born January 23, 1839 in Hilchenbach , † November 22, 1914 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German scientist and educator .

biography

After graduating from high school, Müller studied mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Göttingen and the University of Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1861. phil. From 1862 he was a teacher and senior teacher for mathematics and natural sciences at the secondary school in Perleberg . Since October 1, 1876 he taught at the commercial school in Bremen . From 1880 to 1884 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship . In 1887 he became secretary, then in 1895 2nd chairman and from 1901 to 1903 chairman of the Natural Science Association in Bremen. From 1893 he taught at the old grammar school in Bremenand he was appointed professor. When he retired in 1904, he moved to Frankfurt am Main.

Works

  • From 1864 he published articles on inorganic, analytical and physiological chemistry as well as works on absorption and physical chemistry in Poggendorf's annals and in Westermann's monthly journals .
  • His collection of exercises for schools on physics was published in three editions.
  • In the Bunsen library there is his work The law of the decrease in absorption force with increasing distance ; Leipzig 1886.
