Wilhelm Heinrich Pöhler (born March 15, 1880 in Bückeburg ; † October 10, 1945 there ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Wilhelm Pöhler was born the son of a carpenter. After attending elementary school in Bückeburg, he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and then went hiking . He joined the union in 1903, became a member of the SPD in 1904 and was chairman of the local SPD association in Bückeburg from 1918 to 1933. From 1920 to 1922 he took over the management of the Bückeburg trade union cartel. As a carpenter foreman, he worked for the Schaumburg-Lippe district, among others .

Pöhler was a city ​​councilor in Bückeburg from 1920 to 1933 . He was a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Schaumburg-Lippe from 1928, when he replaced the retired MP Wilhelm Seiger , until 1931.

After the National Socialists came to power , he had to be reported to the police. In addition, he was unemployed until 1934.

Wilhelm Pöhler had been married since 1904 and had three children. His brother Karl August Pöhler (1885-1970) was a member of the state assembly of Schaumburg-Lippe from 1918 to 1919.
