Wilhelm Pleistern

Wilhelm Pleistern (born April 23, 1902 in Hasbergen , † October 26, 1977 in Hanover ) was a German lawyer and bank manager. It gained importance in connection with the founding of NORD / LB and the expansion of the Springe hunting lodge .

Life

Career

Wilhelm Pleistern studied law in Tübingen and Göttingen and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. After various activities in the judicial service and at various banks, he headed the Lower Saxony homestead during the years of reconstruction after the Second World War . After this was taken over in 1955 by the then Niedersächsische Landesbank Girozentrale (NIELA) as a fiduciary institution for housing construction , Pelper first became a member of the board of the Landesbank and in 1959 its chairman .

Wilhelm Pleister's main merit was the founding of NORD / LB, initiated by Lower Saxony's finance minister and later Prime Minister Alfred Kubel and characterized by difficult negotiations, the merger of the four public-law credit institutions Braunschweigische Staatsbank , Hannoversche Landeskreditanstalt , Housing Credit Authority - City Council and Niedersächsische Landesbank - Girozentrale for the 1st July. 1970. also at NORD / LB was Pleister CEO, but resigned early as mid-1971 for reasons of age in retirement .

As Vice President of the Lower Saxony State Hunters Association, Pleistern sponsored the renovation and expansion of the Springe hunting lodge for use by the hunters.
