Wilhelm Prinzhorn (full name Johann Konrad Wilhelm Prinzhorn ; born June 21, 1824 in Kolenfeld near Wunstorf ; † February 13, 1901 in Burgdorf in today's Hanover region ) was a German teacher .

Life

Wilhelm Prinzhorn worked as a cantor and taught at the beginning of industrialization in the Kingdom of Hanover as a main teacher in the elementary classes of the 2nd boys' school in Burgdorf. In 1850 he shared lessons with Carl Scharlemann. In 1855 he set up a preparatory institute in Burgdorf , which prepared prospective educators for further training in one of the eight teachers' seminars operated in the kingdom . After Scharlemann's death in 1862, Prinzhorn took over the management of the institution.

Prinzhorn headed the Provincial Teachers' Association of the Prussian Province of Hanover as chairman for many years before he died at the age of 77.
