William Tiedemann (* 1900 , † 1982 ) was a German horse - Photographer and - filmmakers .

Life

Wilhelm Tiedemann specialized in photographing horses in 1924. For this purpose, he attended almost all internationally oriented horse shows , but also the Olympic Games up to the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 .

Before that, Tiedemann was already “at the instigation of Dr. Gustav Rau ”was brought to the cavalry school in Hanover . During this time, the photographer and his company settled in Langenhagen .

By the early 1950s at the latest, Wilhelm Tiedemann was also producing films on the horse theme, but also films with titles such as “Lied der Heimat” or “Eine kleine Afrika-Reise”. His documentary "You ride for Germany" was released in 1959.

Archival material

After Tiedemann's death, the German Horse Museum in Verden initially acquired part of the Tiedemann collection in the 1970s. The heirs also donated around 250 film rolls and numerous photo negatives to the museum in the 1990s .
