Will Gregorak (born September 30, 1990 in Spokane , Washington ) is an American ski racer . He lives in Longmont in the US state of Colorado and competes in all disciplines.

biography

Gregorak drove his first FIS races in December 2005 and started in the Nor-Am Cup in February 2006 . After his first victories in FIS races, he has competed regularly in the Nor-Am Cup since the 2007/2008 season. In 2008 he was accepted into the junior squad of the US Ski Association. For the next two years he was part of the US team at the Junior World Championships . There he had to accept a few failures, but reached fourth place in the Super-G in 2009 and sixth place in the giant slalom in 2010 and 13th place in the downhill. In the 2008/2009 season Gregorak achieved his first podium places in the Nor-Am Cup and ninth place in the overall standings. In winter 2009/2010 he achieved fifth place in the overall, downhill and Super-G rankings as well as fourth in the giant slalom classification with his first victory in the Panorama giant slalom , another two podium positions and a total of nine top 10 placements. In 2010 he rose from the junior to the C-squad.

On October 24th 2010 Gregorak made his world cup debut in the giant slalom in Sölden . This race is not officially counted by the International Ski Federation FIS , as it was canceled due to poor visibility before the second round - for which Gregorak could not qualify. So he made his second World Cup debut in the giant slalom in Beaver Creek on December 5th, but - as in his other World Cup races in winter - did not make it into the finals of the best 30. He won the Nor-Am Cup in the 2010 season / 2011 with three race victories the giant slalom classification; he also reached fourth place in the overall ranking. In addition to the Nor-Am races, Gregorak is also occasionally at the start in the European Cup . So far, he has achieved two podium positions in this racing series.

In the 2011/2012 season Gregorak took part in ten World Cup races, but in all slaloms and giant slaloms, as in the previous year, he did not make it to the second round. Only in his first World Cup Super G on December 3, 2011 in Beaver Creek did he achieve a countable result as 36th. In the winter of 2011/2012 , he celebrated a victory in the giant slalom in Vail in the Nor-Am Cup .
