Willi Born (entrepreneur)
Willi Born , actually Wilhelm Born, (born September 5, 1912 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ; † September 18, 2005 there ) was a German entrepreneur .
After graduating from high school in Frankfurt am Main , Willi Born studied business administration at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in the 1930s . In Frankfurt he became a member of the KDSt.V. Hasso-Nassovia Frankfurt am Main in the CV . In 1936 he joined the Holex chocolate factory in Bad Homburg founded by his father . Immediately after the end of the Second World War and his return home from captivity , Willi Born initially earned his living as a music teacher and pianist .
It was not until 1950 that he rebuilt the chocolate factory. In 1972 the company moved to Friedrichsdorf in the Seulberg district . On his initiative, the “ Holex ” chocolates , which are still sold worldwide today, were specially developed for diabetics . Willi Born was the first entrepreneur to produce a corresponding luxury food for diabetics on a larger scale.
